The tour begins with hotel pickup in Cusco between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM on Day 1. Early departure allows us to visit Chinchero, Moray, and Maras before lunch, then continue to Ollantaytambo for the train to Aguas Calientes.
The tour includes one night in a 3-star hotel in Aguas Calientes with breakfast. Hotels are clean, comfortable, and centrally located. Upgrades to higher category hotels are available upon request at additional cost.

The Maras Salt Mines visit is easy to moderate. You'll walk on paths between the salt pools with some uneven terrain. The views are spectacular and the walk is leisurely. Good walking shoes are recommended. The site is at 3,380m altitude.
Chinchero is the highest point at 3,762m. We recommend arriving in Cusco 1-2 days before to acclimatize. The overnight in Aguas Calientes (2,040m) helps with acclimatization before visiting Machu Picchu (2,430m). Stay hydrated and try coca tea.
Yes! Unlike one-day tours, this 2-day itinerary allows time to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. However, these require separate permits that must be booked in advance. Let us know when booking and we can arrange the additional tickets.
The tour includes Expedition class round-trip train tickets (Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes - Ollantaytambo). Upgrades to Vistadome class with panoramic windows are available at additional cost. The scenic 1.5-hour journey follows the Urubamba River through the cloud forest.
