Entry Requirements

For most international travelers, entering Peru is straightforward:

• Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Peru.
• Visa-Free Travel: Citizens of the USA, Canada, UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand, and most Latin American countries do not require a tourist visa for stays under 90 days.
• Other Nationalities: If you are from India, China, or certain other countries, you may need a visa unless you hold a valid visa/residency for the US, Canada, UK, or Schengen area.

When arriving at Jorge Chávez International Airport (Lima) or other entry points:

• Digital TAM: The Tarjeta Andina de Migración (Andean Migration Card) is now fully digital. Your entry is recorded electronically by border control.
• Passport Stamp: Ensure the border official stamps your passport with the entry date and the authorized number of days (usually 90 days).
• Proof of Onward Travel: You should carry a printout or digital copy of your return flight ticket, as airlines or immigration officers may ask for it.

Be aware of Peru's customs regulations when bringing items into the country:

• Allowed Items: You can bring personal effects, including up to two cameras, one laptop, and one mobile phone tax-free.
• Currency Limits: You must declare any cash amount exceeding $10,000 USD (or equivalent in other currencies) upon arrival.
• Agricultural Products: To protect Peru's biodiversity, bringing fresh fruits, vegetables, seeds, or unsanitized animal products is strictly prohibited without permit.
