Everything You Want to Know

We have compiled the most common questions from our travelers to help you plan your adventure without worries.

Do I need a visa to enter Peru?

Most citizens of the Americas and Western Europe do not require a visa for tourism and can stay for up to 90 or 183 days. You only need a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity.

What is the best time to visit Cusco and Machu Picchu?

The best time is during the dry season, from May to October, when days are sunny. However, traveling in the rainy season (November to April) offers greener landscapes and fewer crowds.

How difficult is the Inca Trail?

It is considered moderate to challenging due to the altitude and steep climbs. It requires reasonable physical fitness. We recommend being in Cusco at least 2 days before to acclimatize.

How far in advance should I book Machu Picchu?

We recommend booking at least 3 to 4 months in advance, especially if you want the Classic Inca Trail or to climb Huayna Picchu mountain, as spots are limited and sell out quickly.

Is English spoken in Peru?

In tourist areas, hotels, and restaurants in Cusco and Lima, staff usually speak English. However, learning a few basic phrases in Spanish will greatly enrich your experience.

Is it safe to travel solo in Peru?
