🏔️ Journey to the Turquoise Gem of the Andes
Your day begins early, as our team picks you up from your hotel in Cusco around 4:30 a.m. to begin the adventure toward the majestic Salkantay snow-capped mountain. After a scenic drive through the Apurímac Valley, you will arrive at Mollepata (2,900 m / 9,514 ft), where a comforting breakfast awaits before continuing toward Soraypampa (3,900 m / 12,795 ft), the starting point of the hike.
The trail ascends through breathtaking high-Andean landscapes with panoramic views of the imposing Salkantay Mountain, one of the most revered peaks of the Inca civilization and considered a sacred Apu, or mountain spirit. As you advance, the crisp mountain air and the silence of nature will accompany you toward the stunning Humantay Lake (4,200 m / 13,780 ft), a turquoise jewel fed by the melting glaciers above.

In this sacred setting, you will have time to contemplate the beauty of the lagoon, capture unforgettable photographs, and connect with the serene energy of the Andes. Afterward, you will descend to Soraypampa for a traditional Andean lunch before returning to Cusco in the late afternoon—your spirit renewed and your heart filled with memories of this mystical corner of the Peruvian highlands.
